Crafty Stuff

Here is the quilt when I have attached the top and bottom together just around the edges…
Then the binding found itself on top of the quilt, even though it wasn't it's time yet…
I decided to make squares throughout the blanket for extra hold. I was going to try to do a really cool stitch using the cams on my sewing machine, but they didn't want to cooperate…
Then the binding was pinned on and sewn around. I think pinning the binding is one of the hardest parts, you not only have to go through the top and stuffed backing, but there are 4 extra layers with the double layered binding. Then when you are at an edge or at the end, it's really difficult…
Next I cut the black yarn and stitched it into all of the intersections of the squares I sewed through the middle of the quilt. Then they were trimmed…
Here is the finished product. It shows the backing. Randi said she loved it…
As you know, I originally started this for family to keep up with what was going on…I am going to post recipes and craft stuff that I have been doing as well. Here is a baby quilt I made for a friend of mine.

Her theme was ladybugs, so I found a really cute green ladybug material and decided to use black binding and a red backing to make the red of the ladybugs pop. This was difficult for me to do this theme, seeing as how much I dislike ladybugs. LOL

My next quilt project is going to be a real pieced one, not one that I call a "cheater" quilt. The fabric is in the washer as I type this…
